Ninni Morgia


Ninni Morgia is a Sicilian guitarist, active since the 90s. He was a founding member of the noise rock band White Tornado and the industrial no wave Control Unit. He lived for several years in New York city , where he participated in the free jazz and improvisation scene, playing with musicians such as Daniel Carter, William Parker, Peter Evans, Kevin Shea, Lee Ranaldo, and many others. He was part of the psychedelic band La Otracina (Holy Mountain rec) He toured in the USA, Europe, South America, Thailand and Japan. He has played with Japanese improvisation heavyweights such as Shoji Hano, Sabu Toyozumi, Masaharu Showji, Chie Mukai, Junko Hijokaidan and others. He collaborated with the London guitarist Gary Smith in the Brand project, with American Groups like Factrix, Smegma, Bren't Lewis Ensamble, demonstrating that he moves easily in different musical genres, free jazz, industrial, no wave, improvisation, avant blues, noise. He has published under his own name and in groups more than 30 records on European and American labels and participated in important international festivals.
